Birth and Death opening sentences

1. "Unless you want to wind up as a patient in this hospital, you'll get that camera out of my crotch!"

2. As the casket lid closed, I selfishly thought of all the doors that were about to be opened for me.

First Date and Breaking Up Sentences

1. As he rang the bell, he wondered how a person he'd only talked to online could make him feel more nervous that he had ever felt before?

2. For months, they both knew it was coming to this, but out of comfortableness or familiarity they had avoided it; now the moment had come.

Cows and Horses Sentences

1. The stench from the cow barn was so overpowering, David wondered if he'd ever be able to eat steak or drink milk again without gagging.

2. All Paul could think about as he saw the majestic stallions running was what the process was for turning them into glue.

Rain and Snow Sentences

1. The pounding rain was relentless; he knew he'd fail his test for sure if he didn't get some sleep.

2. Ruling out studying for his test as an option, Kevin hoped that the forecasted blizzard would prevent him from having to go to school the next day.

I like this exercise because it exemplifies how you, as the author, and you alone, are the one who controls the fate of words!!! If you don't, readers will look elsewhere for stories . . .
